Dr. O'Donnell is a board certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She completed medical school at The George Washington University School of Medicine followed by a four year general psychiatry residency at Northwestern University where she served as chief resident in her fourth year. She then completed an advanced fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Children's Memorial Hospital (now Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago), serving again as chief fellow in her final year.
After completing training, Dr. O'Donnell joined the faculty at Lurie Children's Hospital holding numerous roles there including establishing a new evaluation/diagnostic clinic for fellows and serving as a supervising child psychiatrist and fellowship rotation director for the Right Start Clinic - a clinic serving the youngest patients and families.
After many years at Lurie Children's, Dr. O'Donnell joined a group private practice for seven years, before establishing a solo private practice which she finds extremely fulfilling.
Dr. O'Donnell sees a wide range of patients and has a passion for child development. Her care extends beyond traditional medical practice as she prioritizes building trust and developing relationships. Dr. O'Donnell has a passion for education, keeping abreast of the latest treatments and teaching and engaging patients around those options. She tirelessly collaborates with schools and therapists to ensure the best possible care for her patients. She believes that taking care of patients is a privilege.
